Michael B. Gilden is Board Certified in Marital & Family Law by The Florida Bar and he is KO’s partner heading the firm’s Family Law practice throughout Florida. Mr. Gilden is also an AV® Preeminent™ rated attorney in both legal ability and ethics, the highest possible rating by Martindale-Hubbell, which is the most widely recognized attorney rating organization in the United States. Mr. Gilden was recently recognized with a Client Distinction Award presented by martindale.com and Lawyers.com. Mr. Gilden represents a wide-ranging client base in divorce, parenting disputes, paternity, post-dissolution enforcement, modification and other related matters. Mr. Gilden represents clients with complex business valuation issues, as well as sensitive and intricate matters concerning custody and other child related issues. Additionally, Mr. Gilden negotiates and drafts complex Prenuptial and Postnuptial Agreements, as well as other forms of marital contracts. Mr. Gilden’s practice also includes serving as a Guardian Ad Litem in contested matters representing the interests of children as selected by his colleagues and as appointed by the Courts. Mr. Gilden is often selected to serve as a mediator by the Courts, as well as by his colleagues in efforts to resolve complicated marital related cases. Prior to joining KO, Mr. Gilden practiced at the national firm of Boies, Schiller & Flexner, LLP and South Florida’s family law boutique of Miller, Schwartz & Miller, P.A. Mr. Gilden earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Miami. He received his law degree from Nova Southeastern Law School where he received a full academic scholarship as a Goodwin Scholar. While at Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center, Mr. Gilden served as a senior staff member for the ILSA Journal of International and Comparative Law and was published in the Journal’s Fall 2000 edition. More recently, Mr. Gilden graduated from the American Bar Association’s 2007 Family Law Trial Advocacy Program. Mr. Gilden is a frequent lecturer on Marital & Family law topics and he has written articles featured in numerous publications, including the Miami Herald and Moves Magazine. Mr. Gilden is one of less than 300 lawyers in the State of Florida to be Board Certified in Marital & Family Law and he has been named in each edition of Florida Super Lawyers since 2009, as well as each edition of the South Florida Legal Guide since 2012. Mr. Gilden is a Past-President of the Broward County Bar Association Young Lawyers Section. He is the Past-Chairperson of The Florida Bar Family Law Section Parenting Education Course Committee, the Past-Secretary of the Equitable Distribution Committee, and a former member of the Legislation, Support, and Continuing Education Committees. Mr. Gilden served as the Past-Chairperson for The Florida Bar Seventeenth Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee. |
