Douglas F. Hoffman concentrates his practice in the highly specialized areas of probate, trust and guardianship administration, litigation, estate planning and real estate. With nearly 20 years of experience in this specialty area, his professionalism and knowledge of the law has earned him the respect of his peers and colleagues, a 5.0 AV® Preeminent™ rating, as well as numerous judicial appointments.
In addition to practicing law, Mr. Hoffman is an adjunct professor at Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad Law Center, where for 10 years he has prepared second- and third-year law students to apply the Florida rules of civil procedure in pre-trial practices, a hands-on course with meaningful, true-to-life relevance.
Mr. Hoffman is a member of the Florida Bar, Real Property, Probate, and Trust Law Section, for which he served on the Probate Rules Committee; the Broward County Bar, Elder Law and Probate divisions; and current member and former board member of the Broward County Estate Planning Council. He has been named a Florida Super Lawyer, a rating bestowed on outstanding lawyers who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.
He earned his Juris Doctor and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Florida, and was a member of the prestigious Florida Blue Key. He lends his support to the Community Foundation of Broward as a member of its Professional Advisors Council, and is a founding member and continues to serve on the steering committee for its annual Joint Tax & Estate Planning Seminar.
